An ultimate guide for selecting the best blog niche for your first blog

So this is the toughest thing every new blogger finds while starting the blogging journey!

Where to start? Which Blog niche to choose for your first blog.

I always insist, always follow your biggest passion. Your passion is the biggest tool that can lead you to a successful blog.

Blog niche

Even though you have a great passion, you should not start a blog blindly. You need to consider all the ups and downs of selecting your niche out of your passion, as each niche will have different size and potential of the audience.

Tips to find a profitable niche

Choosing a niche out of your passion is a good start for your new blog. But it is not just enough. You need to find a profitable niche for blogging to build a successful blog.

Remember you are not the only one having an idea of the blog niche you choose, there may be blogs out there already ranking on top positions for your niche. if the competition of the niche is too high your site will be stabbed by other ranked websites and if the niche has no demand, your blog will have no reach.

So keeping all in mind you should choose a perfect blog niche which will withstand in the crowd. Here are a few tips for you to consider a niche as profitable.

1. Check the popularity

If the Blog niche you choose is popular, it means there are people searching for topics in your niche.

To find the popularity of your niche you can use some free tools by Google like Google trends and Google keyword planner.

Let me consider a niche and choose if it is profitable for me. I took ‘Life Hacks’ as my major niche of work. so when I searched for the keyword in Google Trends it showed up the graph like this.

2. Consider the competition

Checking the competition of your blog niche is very important for your blog to withhold the crowd. As said early the competition should be not too high. You can use the Google Keyword Planner tool to search for the competition analysis.

If the competition of the keyword shows Low or Medium, you have selected the correct niche. In the above image, I chose a term which has low competition and hence I can proceed with that niche. If that term shows high competition, you can go with the related keywords ideas which have low competition.

3. Is your niche monetizable

Many start their blogs as a hobby and ultimately find that their niche is not monetizable and leave the blogs. Make sure that your blog niche has potential monetization.

How do you do that? To find this, once again we are going to use the Google Keyword Planner. The keyword planner shows you whether advertisers are putting money on that keyword. If there are some ad bids on that keyword, it means that you can earn money in that niche.

On the other hand, you can also check for affiliate products like amazon that you can refer through your blogs. If there are different products based on your niches sold out in affiliate programs like Amazon and Flipkart, you can consider that niche as monetizable.
